❤️ Wear a Story. Support Women. Own Art.
This isn’t just a jacket—it’s a piece of history.
Each KOME Kantha jacket is individually designed and handcrafted by me, Kjaer, in my North Vancouver studio using beautiful vintage Kantha textiles created from layers of recycled cotton saris. Every stitch, every patch, every worn detail tells the story of a life already lived, making each jacket absolutely one of a kind.
I source my Kantha fabrics through a Fair Trade company in Bangladesh that supports more than 1,500 women in rural communities. Many have escaped poverty and difficult circumstances, earning a dignified living through their extraordinary hand stitching. Their simple running stitches transform old fabrics into works of art.
When you wear one of these jackets, you’re not only supporting my small Canadian business—you are supporting many talented women whose hands helped create something truly special.
No two jackets will ever be the same.
I often think of these pieces as future heirlooms—garments to be loved, worn, and eventually passed on.
